PPM Promotions has a long and storied history in the Canadian electronic music scene.

Currently a partnership between Wade Allan Fornwald and Michael ‘Deko-ze’ Babb, it is based out of Toronto, Ontario.  

As a local Promotions Company, PPM was responsible for the wildly successful and outrageously-themed ‘MAYHEM’ nights (2003 – 2005) that ran as an occasional offshoot of the world-renowned ‘BREATHE’ brand at System Soundbar.  Currently, PPM is co-ordinating the ‘Deko-ze – Delicious 2006 Canadian DJ Tour’.

As a DJ Agency, PPM has until recently, focussed its efforts entirely upon the development of Deko-ze’s career.  PPM acts as both management and booking agent for Deko-ze, handling all of his Canadian and international gigs, as well as some local gigs.  Acting upon persistent requests, PPM has recently begun handling other talented Toronto DJs.

Invaluable PPM team players include Erin Keating, Murray Rowe, Raquel Richards and Ann-Marie Morris.  The various members of PPM’s team are recognizable ‘faces’ of the Toronto scene, and are frequent ‘hosts’ to many of its best nights.

PPM’s history goes well beyond the ‘Centre of the Universe’, as some people joke of Toronto.  The organization actually began in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1993.  Originating as a unique arts-oriented nightclub called Plastic Puppet Motive, PPM eventually became one of the most revered promotions company in Western Canada during the height of the rave scene.

As it is now, PPM’s success was always the result of a dedicated and creative group of people.  Along with Wade and Michael, the organization was created by Sherry Hornung and Heather Millburn.  Carol Maybin’s artistic touch soon joined the fold.  During it’s years as a cross-provincial organization, Brian Bobroff and Jolene Ledene held down the Saskatoon fort.

PPM Promotions is coordinating Deko-ze’s cross-Canada tour in support of his ‘Delicious’ Mix CD.

The ‘DEKO-ZE – DELICIOUS 2006 CANADIAN DJ TOUR’ will touch down in almost every major city in the country.  Running from August 11th to October 7th, the tour includes 18 dates in 17 different cities!  True to the boundary-crossing nature of Deko-ze’s fan base, the tour will hit everything from straight bars to gay after-hours to outdoor festivals — and everything in between!

The tour launches on August 11th at Deko-ze’s Friday night residency at Footwork in Toronto.  It concludes, somewhat appropriately given Deko-ze’s origins in Saskatoon, on October 7th — just in time for Thanksgiving!

GUEST LIST FORM FOR LAUNCH PARTY AT FOOTWORK  

Each event will feature Deko-ze plus supporting DJ talent, as selected by the local promoter.  

Events in Toronto, London and Montreal will exclusively feature the vocal talents of Toronto’s jaQe, who will be performing to Deko-ze’s remix of “Need Your Love”, originally produced by Nick Fiorucci with vocals by jaQe.  The single is currently doing the promo rounds and is scheduled for a fall release on Hi-Bias Records.

A limited number of ‘Deko-ze – Delicious’ CDS will be given away (on a random basis) at each event, with more available for purchase.
